First Tale: Not in Storybrooke, Maine anymore [Action/ AccidentVideo]

[Henry has found himself waking up on a very cold day in Luceti on the outskirts of the village. It takes him a bit to gather his bearings and to find his winter coat nearby him. Putting it on he sits there for a moment to look around. Yup, this wasn't home. Did he get here by magic? And if so, was this the Enchanted Forest?

Looking nearby he see's a journal with his name on it. Very strange. Why would a journal that he never had have his name? Someone must have brought him here.

Opening it up he begins flipping through the pages. It was looking to be some kind of guide. Maybe it had a map?

When it proves to becoming difficult to try and find a map in this journal, he begins to wander into the village, tightly holding his jacket closed. He doesn't want to even think what bad guy put him in a raggy pair of pants. But he starts to call out for anyone around.]

Hello? Anyone here? Gram-pa are you here?

Well, maybe there is a way.

[But would true love return skin to bone? Probably not. It might break the curse on the skeleton man but he needed that to live.

The only person Henry could think of being able to do that stuff was Mr.Gold...but Magic came with a price and Mr.Gold was all about prices.]

Well to be perfectly honest, it's not so bad. I never have to worry about getting fat from over-eating, I don't get paper cuts anymore, and I don't have to carry around as much weight. I would say you should try it some time but... I think that would most likely be a one way trip. Yohohoho!

So what's your story my little friend? I happen to be a bard, so I love stories. Yohohoho!

But don't you miss tasting your favourite foods or feeling warm or cold?

[The skeleton man might have his reasons but to Henry it seems more sad than happy.]

My story? Well, I'm from Storybrooke, Maine. It's a bit like this place...sort of.

Oh I do miss those things sometimes, but if it weren't for the cursed fruit, I'd never have had the opportunity to feel anything at all ever again. Besides... I can't let myself die until I fulfill my promise I made.

[Brook was well aware of the downsides, he's spent 50 years alone mulling over the downsides. However, it's like the old saying goes, time heals all wounds.]

Storybrooke? Sounds like somewhere out of a storybook that's for sure. Yohohoho!

A promise? What kind of promise?

[This is sounding like a story and Brook is lucky that Henry likes stories. But it seems like Brook caught onto the name...yeah about that...]

Uhhh...well...it sort of is? In a way. It's a long story.

A promise to return to a friend I was forced to leave behind, a very long time ago...

[The story of storybrooke being like a storybook earns Henry a blank, stony stare.]

... Go on...

I'm sure you'll find them.

[But it seems like Brooks is interested in his town.]

Well...my town was cursed. Everyone in it was from this place called the Enchanted Forest and were brought over by this evil curse that took away their happiness and memories. So, they were made to live out 28 years of their lives not knowing who they were. But, the saviour, my mom, was the only one to break the curse.

[He takes a pause.]

The thing is, everyone in Storybrooke is a fairy tale character in my world.

Indeed I shall! Until then, I'll just have to live my life to the fullest in honor of my fallen comrades! Yohohoho!

[Brook listens to this tale... admittedly intrigued by the notion.]

So... who wrote the book?

You mean my storybook? I think it was made when the curse was placed. Because, even if a curse is really powerful, all curses can be broken.

So you think that the story wrote itself when the curse was created? That way people could find a way to break it? That's... kind of handy actually. Do you have any favorite characters? And if you're right that every character in the book is in fact a fairy tale character, who's your grandfather? Or you for that matter?

Yeah, but no one actually knew they were cursed. It was just me because I had the book.

[But he nods with a smile.]

Yeah, it was. Without it I wouldn't have been able to find Emma.

[But Henry kind of laughs at the Skeleton man when he asks what fairy tale character he is.]

I was never brought over by the curse from the Enchanted Forest. I was just born in the world that everyone from Storybrooke got sent to.

But, my Gramps is Prince Charming.

Ohh... so you had the advantage that you were an uninvolved third party that had somehow found your way there? Very intriguing.

Wait... The prince charming? Wow... he must be getting on in years. Or is it King Charming now? I never am very good at keeping track with fairy tale characters.

I was adopted when I was baby, so that's how I managed to get there.

[But, he smiles a bit.]

He's not that old. I mean, the curse kept everyone from aging. Well, except me and Emma.

So let me see... if your that old... and emma had you at the age of... well that would probably mean... and time stopped for 28 years...

Nope, I still can't figure out how old any of you are. Yohohoho!

I'm only ten. Emma said she had me at Eighteen.

Wait... so you're saying that none of the fairy tale characters aged right? So does that mean that Prince Charming there, is still as young as when he first had Emma?

Yeah, that's exactly right.

Huh... I guess charming still lives up to his name eh? Yohohoho! So what's storybrooke like? You said it's a land where all these fairy tale characters live, does that mean it's pretty magical?

Well, not until Mr.Gold brought magic to Storybrooke. But it's kind of magical now.

Wow... This Mr.Gold fellow sounds kind of weird. How do you bring magic to a place anyways?

I'm not really sure. But, Mr.Gold would probably know more about it than I do. All I know is there was a potion involved that Emma was getting to save me.

Really? What happened to you that you needed a magical potion?

I was cursed.

Ah, that would explain your morbid curiosity about me being cursed.
