[Henry had been reflecting on things that had happened back home. Things that had happened with Peter Pan, his special heart, all of what happened in Neverland. He was sitting in his bedroom looking over the sword he once believed into existence on Neverland.

If he could just believe a stick into a sword, he wondered what else he could do. He looks into his comics because he's pretty sure he's read about belief powers before. And to his credit he does manage to find something similar to it. Reality warping. Just believing in doing something and making it happen.

He mulls it over in his head for a moment. He's pretty sure he's not able to mess with reality at all. Magic had a price where he came from but the rules seemed to change wherever he went.

So, he goes on the network. If only to ask if anyone knows more about this kind of stuff.]

Do you guys think magic changes depending on what world you're in? The rules I mean. Where I'm from magic always comes with a price, but, is it possible that in other places that it doesn't? Like just believing in something and you can do it?

[Someone else with magic? It intrigues her, enough that she brings herself to respond just a little bit into the evening - once she's at home and at least a little more relaxed than she was earlier.]

There are those in my world who are born with it - human beings, that is. They can control one element of the world with the exertion of their magic, and those found with that gift are called Magi*.

They're born with it? I've never heard of that before. Well, except in books. Anybody can learn it where I'm from and there's a lot you can do with it.

I see... No, where I come from it is a gift from one's parents - more specifically, one parent. To me it is strange to suddenly arrive to a place where anyone can learn to use it - and for it to not be restricted to one type, as well.

In my world many different creatures are aligned with many different elements. It is who they are and not considered magic. Then there are other creatures who do have the gift of magic.

During my time here I have found that those who live here find both to be magic. [The dragon pauses for a moment to think over the words she has just said to see if her meaning has come out correctly. She thinks it has.]

In my world there doesn't seem to be anything like magic.

Yeah they do both sound like the same thing. But, what's the difference between them if the first isn't really magic?

[He's sticking with voice. He doesn't sound to surprised when he reads them.]

Yeah that was the same back home until magic was brought over. A lot of worlds here seem to either have it or don't.

It seems like there are several different types of magic, and the way it behaves is unique to the world where it's used.

But I'm not an expert.

Can you do magic?

I could say the same about how magic works where you live. Magic's supposed to come with a price. But, here it doesn't for other people.

[It's both a little frightening and sort of cool. After all, nothing bad could happen with using magic for other people. But what stopped them from doing some horrible without that price to make people consider what they were doing?]

They are very different in my world. To be connected with an element is a part of a creature. It is limited. Magic belongs to very few and it is nearly limitless. Able to create, mix the elements, and do things I do have the words to explain. I have only met one who I would say could use magic. I have met many who are connected with an element.

Yeah, seems like it. Magic was different in Storybrooke than it was supposed to be in the Enchanted Forest and definitely different in Neverland.

[The question does make him ponder for a moment.]

Sort of? I managed to believe a stick into a sword. Oh, I also used pixie dust a few times to fly!

Fly? How? With these weird wings?

Sounds dangerous for someone to be able to do that much with magic. But, what can people do if they're attached to an element?

No, 'course not. You can't really with these things. Like I said; I just used some pixie dust.

This dust stuff made you fly without the wings?

Don't suppose any of that is here in Luceti, is it?

It is. That is why only those worthy to wield it are given the gift of magic. [Or so she has been taught. She actually doesn't have a clue how it works.]

It depends on the element and how much one is able to listen to their element. [The word she's looking for is training.] Some may need to surround themselves with their element to live; others may in time learn harmony with it. There is an elder in my clan who can turn his very body into stone. I once watched him grow plants out of his claws. [She speaks in awe of him. As he is a very wise and old dragon. She would like very much to one day be as close to her element as he is.]

Uh huh, you just need to believe in it and believe you can fly when you use it.

But, I think I'm the only one with any of it around and all I've got is a bottle of it.

Just what sort of price do you speak of?

Magic without consequences is a bit hard to imagine. [Karis pauses, thinking things over a bit.]

I don't think the rules can be changed based on location alone, but I could be wrong. It would be interesting to experiment with, I'd test it myself, but I don't want my brain to turn into a vegetable, as too much magic is capable of doing that where I'm from.

That's how it works where I'm from. [ Sort of. ] Not the price thing, but the "I want this to happen so I'm going to make it happen".

I think the methods and the application changes, as well as the rules yes. Some places require spirits to use magic, others simply bend the elements to preform it. I know in my own world magic doesn't really have a price to pay. People just...ah do it.

Magic works very differently where I come from than what I've seen here. Different races of people--humans, elves, and halfbloods, who are a mix of the two--all have different types of magic. Here, there are humans with all sorts of different skills and none of them are at all like what humans can do in my home world.

As for magic coming with a price, I've only seen it happen once in my home world, and that was under a very specific set of circumstances.

Did you come here with it?

No rules or prices come with it where I'm from. But one thing is that you're either born with it or not, and most people who can use it can only use one or two types based on their fonins... in other words their lineage. [DNA, basically.

And normally Peony might have second thoughts getting into the subject at all what with where he was, but figures with a kid asking it's not harmful to spill a little on the subject. And he's not the paranoid type either.]

Um, just something equal to what you're asking. It's never really specific.
