theboywiththebook | Second Tale: The Red Room [Action/Video] (Spoilers for s2ep6 those not up to date)

[Henry has gotten settled in his room in the first community housing building on floor 2. But, the thing is he hasn't been sleeping well lately. Ever since he woke up from the sleeping curse he'd been put under he'd been having horrible nightmares.

Tonight was no exception.

He was in a red room. There were no windows or doors, so he was locked in. But there were these red curtains, on fire. The whole room was on fire in fact. All he could do was try and avoid the flames and from being burned. But when he looked off into a corner he saw a woman. Her back was faced away from him and all he could do was try and call out to her. Try and get her attention.

But, it was getting too frightening. He lunged awake quickly and let out a terrified yell. He knocked over his journal turning the feed on. Rubbing his face to try and get the pictures of that room from his mind, he turned only to see he'd knocked his journal open. Hopefully he didn't wake anyone. But just in case he'll apologize but sound a bit fearful as he does.]

Sorry, about that...

[After that, he can't get back to sleep. He's gone to the kitchen for his floor and has made some coffee. He wants to stay awake, to try and avoid going back to those horrible dreams.

Opening the journal again he'll try and occupy himself with talking to anyone that's awake.]

Is there anyone up right now...?

It's...a really long story.

[She glances at the time, then back at the book, debating a moment.]

Would it help to have some company?

[He thinks about it for a moment...yup. He definitely wants some company.]

You don't mind?

Not at all. I wasn't sleeping just yet anyway. Where can I find you?

[It's said with a small smile, because while she might not have a lot of experience with children, friends with troubled sleep are an entirely a different matter. Sometimes just the company and presence of another person was enough to banish some of the lingering dread.]

I'm in the community house building 1, floor 2. I'll be in the kitchen.

I'll be there shortly.

[Natasha vanishes from the books, pausing only long enough to grab a jacket and take a quick glance at the map to be assured of her destination. Journal tucked in a pocket and a note left for Clint, just in case he peeked in for her for some reason, she slips out of the dark apartments and crosses Luceti to Henry's apartment building.

Climbing the stairs, she knocks softly on the door, hoping she wasn't going to wake anyone.]

[Henry will answer the door, peeking out through a crack. When he see's Natasha he opens the door up for her to come in.]

Thanks for coming, Natasha. I made some coffee if you want some.

Hello, Henry. [She smiles as she slips inside, shrugging out of her jacket once more, dressed in simple jeans and a sweater.]

Coffee in the middle of the night?

[Oh right, it would be bad to say he was drinking it.]

I thought you might like some?

[terrible lying is terrible.]

[Natasha gives him a knowing look that clearly states she's not buying that at all but she goes and pours herself a mug anyway, because she could use the warmth. It was much colder here at nights than it had been in New York before she'd arrived. She was still adjusting to the sudden change in temperature.]

Thank you. We're not going to wake up any of your floormates, are we?

I don't think so. I haven't seen them around so I think I'm actually alone on this floor.

Well, that could be fun sometimes, although not always.

[She carries her mug back over to the table and takes a seat, giving him a crooked smile.]

It sounds like it could also get pretty lonely sometimes.

[Henry gives a little shrug to her statement.]

I guess...but I'm not too lonely.

[~~He's been talking to an imaginary Emma for a couple of days though. If only because it lets him feel like she might be there.~~]

[She takes another slow sip of her coffee before sitting her mug down on the table, leaning forward on her arms]

You're braver than a lot, then.

[Is he brave? He doesn't think he's that brave.]

No, I just believe I'm going to get home. Emma will find me and if not I'll find a way to her.

[She tilts her head to the side, curious.] Emma? Is she someone from your home? In Maine?

Yeah...she's my mom.
