7th Tale: My life sucked [Voice/Action]

[Locked to; Natasha, Steve, Bucky, Pepper, Layton, Loki, Richard, and Katniss.]

[Having returned back to normal a few days previous, Henry is more or less not feeling so good about himself. He got angry at his friends, continued to think they were the ones who \needed help, and over all; just proved that he was the crazy one when he returned to normal. It hurt having his worst fear realized; that he had actually been made crazy for a time. He always felt himself so sure of his beliefs and what he knew was right.

But, after that experiment? He's really not sure if he can trust himself right now. Henry has spent the last few days avoiding the people he knows in public (except for the occasional reply or two on the journals). He knows that he will have to let them know he's okay and explain why he was acting so defensive.

Rather than going on video, he decides to stick with voice. It'll be better so people don't seem him looking so down trodden.]

It's Henry. I'm...back to normal everyone. [There's a long pause before he starts talking again.]

I'm sorry if I got angry at anyone, I know you were just trying to help. But I-I didn't want anyone to think I was crazy.

[He knows he's not being helpful right now but, to put into words how much he hurt back home before Emma came along is a hard thing to do. Especially for someone almost eleven.]

It's a long story. I might have said somethings about what happened where I'm from, but not all of it.

[Okay, take a breath.]

Where I'm from, fairy tale characters actually came to my world. They actually existed in another land called the Enchanted Forest. But, they were all brought over to Storybrooke by a dark curse made by the Evil Queen to take revenge on Snow White. The curse made it so no one would remember who they were and have all of their happiness taken from them and live to suffer forever.

I wasn't originally from Storybrooke though. I was adopted by the mayor, who was the Evil Queen.

[And there is where he takes his longest pause. Did he really want to get into this? Bring up the hurt she placed on him for him just trying to do right by all the people in Storybrooke? It's necessary though...to let people know where he was coming from when he was experimented on.]

I found out about the curse because my grandma, or, my teacher at the time gave me a storybook that told me all about the curse and the lives of the people in the Enchanted Forest. When I found out that the curse could be broken by Snow White's and Prince Charming's daughter I went to find her, because...she's also my birth mom. When I brought her back to Storybrooke...that's when the evil queen started to try and make me think I was crazy.

[That's where his falters a bit. His hurt is clearly plain in it his throat as he says that part.]

She knew I was right so she had to make it so no one believed me. That way her curse would never break. But, in the end the curse was broken.

[It just goes to show good will always win.]

Action

[After his entry, Henry has left his apartment to go to the battledome. He's carrying the bow Katniss gave him and the sword he got for Christmas. Might as well keep up with practice. Plus, it would help get his mind off of everything he had been thinking about. Sure, he told his story to those he knew but he still wasn't feeling any better about it. He can be caught on the way there only looking a slightly bit less upset.

If not, he's arrived at the dome and is already setting up a simulation to shoot targets with arrows. Katniss had showed him proper treatment of a bow, but he's a bit over eager so he's going to try and shoot one on his own. Naturally he's not doing very well as either he's not pulling back enough and the arrow doesn't go far, or his aim is off and the shot goes wide.

After that gets tiring he's setting up another scenario that Loki showed him to use his sword. This was probably easier since he had been improving already with the help of so many teachers.

At the end of the day, he's gone to Seventh Heaven for supper. He's still only ten, ten year olds can't really cook for themselves. Getting his table and already getting his food, even while he may be hungry he doesn't have much of an appetite at the moment. He just leisurely plays with his food, moving his fork around his plate as he stares down at it. His thoughts were preoccupied now on his experiment.

He had been made to be older and while he did make some new friends while at that age, it still didn't feel right. It was like getting a taste of the dark curse except not exactly quite there. He still remembered who he was...just with new memories inserted. A life that he hadn't lived yet. But, having remembered that he had been made to grow up and made to think certain things...it's a scary thought that he might actually be stuck in Luceti for that long. That fear had been instilled in him by the others here that some people had been here for at least two to three years, and while they had the comfort of having friends and family, he didn't. He was alone. No grandparents and no Emma. He didn't want to grow up without them. He didn't want to have to learn what it'd be like not having a family here.]

[Well, that explains a bit.]

No harm done, Henry. I only wish the Malnosso hadn't tampered with you in such a personal way.

[He has always thought of them as scientists and career men rather than 'evil'. Scientists with a failing grade in ethics, perhaps, but he is somehow disappointed that they would go so far with Henry.]

Do you know if your memories during the change are still intact?

That's probably for the better. We wouldn't want you getting confused over them.

I can only imagine so, though I wish I could tell you otherwise. [A slight pause.] Have you ever considered keeping a journal?
reminded: (s'all cool)

Ha! No, no. I was referring to a journal in the sense of a diary. If you record your daily life, perhaps it will help you sort out fact from fiction should something like this ever happen again.
reminded: (That concludes the lecture.)

You're welcome, Henry. It isn't a foolproof method by any means, but perhaps you'll find it helpful in other ways.

[He's always found it so, anyway.]
reminded: (That's right.)

One can only hope.

No, I've made a habit of it since my youth... which means I have quite the stack of old journals back home. Perhaps I'll leave one when I'm sent back home as well.
reminded: (I have it!)

Yes, I chronicled them as they happened. They always came in handy when I needed to look back on details I may have forgotten.
reminded: (Hm?)

[He blinks at that.]

A book? ... I confess I've never considered publishing a personal narrative.
reminded: (How do you do?)

I'm not certain I possess the creative flair for a novel. A puzzle book, on the other hand...
reminded: (wink wonk)

[voice/locked]; never a problem!!

[personal profile] reminded 2013-04-28 10:37 am (UTC)(link)
I solve mysteries because my curiosity never fails to get the better of me -- the puzzles are merely a bonus. But yes, I am very fond of them; my life would be a shade duller without them.
reminded: (Aha... Yes...)

Certainly. Unfortunately, the clues as they are fall a bit short of a perfect deduction... or even a satisfactory one.

[It's more depressing when he says it aloud.]
